The outfit was amazing and I fit in so well I had several locals approach me and start talking to me in German. I was afraid I'd disappoint them when I told them I didn't speak German, but they all quickly switched to English and told me the outfit was genuine and that I looked like a local. Great people, great time and great clothes offered up by Bavarian Outfitters. Thank you!
My boyfriend and I rented outfits for Oktoberfest from Bavarian Outfitters. They were reasonably priced and had a wide assortment of traditional clothing. We rented our outfits for a Saturday and we got there about 15 minutes before the store opened at 9am and were second in line. A long line formed by 9am but there were several staff members and it moved quickly. The sizes we originally requested both were wrong, but we were able to try on other sizes until we found outfits that fit us both. We were also able to pick colors. The staff were friendly and helpful. They do not offer storage for your clothes but gave us a bag and told us where we could find lockers outside of Oktoberfest. They also offer free red bull in the store :)
We came to the shop whilst it was closed but coincidentally the manager happened to be popping in and couldn't have been more helpful. He not only gave us some brilliant lederhosen but also offered to pick it up from our hotel the following day as the shop won't be open and we have to catch our flight home. Fantastic, friendly service. Would highly recommend.
Rent Beautiful, Authentic Oktoberfest Clothing - Hassle Free My husband (who is the only person on our block who won't dress up for Halloween) was persuaded by his German colleagues that wearing Lederhosen was necessary for Oktoberfest. I didn't want to carry extra clothing for two weeks in Europe, so we rented from Bavarian Outfitters. I reserved a dirndl (the traditional women's dress) online at no charge about 3 weeks ahead, but he still wasn't sure. When we arrived in Munich, a quick Uber ride brought us to their pop-up shop. The clerks were delightful, spoke English and brought us different sizes and styles of each piece of clothing (including socks and shoes, if you like) until we were perfectly turned out. My husband was able to rent Lederhosen without a reservation. I had reserved the wrong size, but they simply brought me two choices in my preferred colors in the correct size. The clothes were made of natural materials (cotton, wool, suede), nearly new and perfectly clean. There were curtained, private dressing rooms. The whole process took about 30 minutes, and was actually part of the fun.
When we arrived at Oktoberfest, we immediately saw that most people were dressed up so we felt great about our choice. We were not out of place on the U-bahn or in downtown Munich. Other American couples we knew purchased attractive Bavarian gear in a shop near their hotel because they were staying longer, but our rented clothes were higher quality and more authentic.
Wearing the correct outfit definitely enhanced our feeling of participating vs. being American tourists. After a few delicious, fresh beers we forgot that we were wearing "outfits." A few more and after that, well, who cares? It was fantastic. We had a great time in Munich, met people from around the world, sang, smiled and laughed. Who could ask for more from travel?
These guys are incredibly efficient and have an amazing selection of options. I found the staff to be very friendly and helpful -- enthusiastic even, about my foray into Bavarian-wear for Oktoberfest. Wearing something slightly vintage and definitely high quality and local really made my experience at Oktoberfest very special. Check these guys out. You won't to be disappointed.
Highly recommend. If I go to Oktoberfest again I will be back! For a 24-hour rental:42.90€ for a dirndl set (blouse, dress/dirndl, and apron). 49.90€ for a lederhosen set (shirt, shorts/lederhosen, suspenders, and socks). 19.90€ for men's shoes. 100€ cash deposit per set, but you can pay card for everything else. Overall a really great deal compared to buying one outright. They even smelled freshly laundered! The staff is a little swamped but very helpful. They helped me to pick out the right size and let me change colors to another I had more of a preference for. They have changing rooms on site so you can make sure yours fits before you leave.Be sure to make your (free) reservation online a few weeks before to make sure they have your size in stock when you get there!
This place is awesome for rental! They have different styles. It's about $42 for the ladies and $49 for the men per day.. you can pay that amount with your credit card but they ask for €100 cash for deposit which you will get back once you return the costume... we walked to the festival from our Airbnb and we did pass a place that was selling dresses for €40 so if you wanna purchase you can find places that aren't too expensive , but if you're looking to rent this is your spot!
Lob!
Great place to rent Oktoberfest gear I was in Munich for Oktoberfest and rented Leiderhosen and shoes from Bavarian Outfitters. I was really pleased with the experience. Great customer service, very easy to book online, and very easy to get fitted and ready for the festivities. Great value and will definitely rent from them again.
Outfit for oktoberfest My girlfriend and I recently rented our Oktoberfest outfits (lederhosen and dirndl) from Bavarian Outfitters.
The service was great. They were very helpful with offering different styles and sizes. Considering how expensive these outfits can be to buy, we were thrilled with this less expensive option. Definitely not cheap, but absolutely worth it.
